In this meeting Local Governments from Sweden, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia and South Africa met for participation at an international training program on climate action. The program, carried out in Stockholm May 13th-17th 2024, included a broad variation of thematic discussions of relevance for the Local Governments that participated. The program also provided opportunities for all Local Governments to present, assess and discuss their own challenges and projects with different orientiations, however unified under the umbrella of Climat Action.

I participated as a representative for Center for Rural Medicine (CRM), Region Västerbotten, from the basis of my role as a senior advisor and project manager for a number of international projects funded by Swedish International Centre for Local Democracy (ICLD). In this meeting, one of the partners to CRM, Region Västerbotten; Kisumu County Government participated since they are the lead partner in a collaboration between CRM, Region Västerbotten, The City of Umeå, Umeå University, the County Governments of Siaya, Busia, Migori and Homa Bay as well as research institutions located in the Lake Victoria basin area in Kenya.

The meeting in Stockholm was organized by ICLD in partnership with Stockholm Environment Institute and UNCDF (United Nation Capital Development Fund).
