During April 17th-21st and May 1st-5th, representatives from County Government departments in Homa Bay County, Kenya have visited Västerbotten.
The first delegation visited Lycksele Municipality for a comprehensive program on sustainable waste and water management. The partners – Homa Bay County and Lycksele Municipality – will finalize one project in the end 2023, and has started another just recently after signing the agreement with the funder Swedish International Centre for Local Democracy (ICLD).
The second delegation visited Storuman Municipality, where Centre for Rural Medicine (CRM) is located, and Lycksele Municipality. This program focused on sexual and reproductive health and rights as well as mental health for youth.
Both delegations where headed by the ministres for the environmental department and health department.
Both programs ended with a conversation with HE Diana Kiambuthi, the ambassador of Kenya at the Kenyan embassy in Stockholm.
I am contracted by Lycksele Municipality and CRM to support in planning, implementation and monitoring of the projects, as well as a strategic advisor and with responsibilities for establishing relations with development partners in both countries, with embassies and UN-organisations.

The weeks with the partners from Homa Bay County, Lycksele Municipality, Centre for Rural Medicine and Region Västerbotten have been very constructive and fruitful.
