On the 6th of December I was invited by Umeå United Nation Association and the student organisation Nordplus for a talk about my work within international development cooperation.

The venue for the event was Lindellhallen at Umeå University.

I was honored to being invited to speak about my thoughts and experience of being a practitioner. I focused mostly on my work with partners in Kenya but covered other partnerships as well – not only partners in Kenya and Africa but also with partners on other continents and work within broad international platforms in which organisations and movements from many countries and continents have participated.

I also tried to talk about both successtories and about projects that had been difficult to ”fly” after the projects have ended. I also tried to describe projects that have been funded by different donors, both funding from Sweden and funding from UN-organisations.

At the end of the talk – I highlighted some key questions that I thought would be of relevance for university students who have an interest for international development cooperation.
