Once again, me and Peter Söderström, founder of Gender Equality Vision, were assigned by the Government of Åland to work for capacity building on how to prevent and counter sexualized violence. This time our mission was to train representatives for different organization on how they could adress these matters through educational activities. The participants in this training were also exposed to research-based knowledge on sexualized violence, international policies and agreements as well as on Logical Framework Approach – a method for project design, monitoring and evaluation – since educational activities can be framed within projects.

The training delivered opportunities for the participants to develop their own educational activities, and to recieve peer-review feedback from the participants, us as trainers and from Vivan Nikula who contracted us for this training. Vivan Nikula has a broad and long experience of working against men´s violence against women and for gender equality. She has also worked as the head of the gender equality department at the Government of Åland.

It has been most rewarding to work with Vivan and Peter in this training, and to learn from and work with the participants.
