On April 23rd-25th a number of organizations gathered in Nairobi, Kenya for a workshop on partnership and governance for health and resilience in relation to climate change and environment.
The organizations and people who participated at the workshop were: representatives for the County Governments of Kisumu, Siaya, Busia, Migori and Homa Bay, representatives Region Västerbotten and the City of Umeå, representatives for Maseno University, Jaramogi University for Science and Technology, Tom Mboya University, Umeå University, Stockholm Environment University, representatives for the Embassy of Sweden and the Treasury of Kenya.
The workshop was carried out within the framework of a project funded by Swedish International Centre for Local Democracy (ICLD). The project will be finalized in August 2025.
Coordinators of the partnership are the Centre for Rural Medicine, Region Västerbotten and the Department of Health, Kisumu County Government.
The workshop was interesting and rewarding. The parties within this partnership will now work with the last activities in this project in order for project to reach the objectives.
I was contracted by Region Västerbotten as a senior advisor and international project manager. My contract with Region Västerbotten will change form from May 1st 2025.
