On May 12th-16th 2025 a team from Cape Agulhas Municipality, South Africa visited the City of Umeå for working together on how to improve their work on youth inclusion.
This was the first visit for team Cape Agulhas in Umeå. They were exposed to a number of peer learning study and site visits in Umeå as well as peer learning workshops in which the parties could discuss how they worked with youth inclusion and how they want to improve their work.
The partnership is funded by Swedish International Centre for Local Democracy (ICLD) within the framework of the Municipal Partnership Program. The project will be finalized 2026.
I am contracted as consultant supporting the parties with advice, facilitation and writing of reports. I participated during the first and fourth day of the program. It was really interesting listening and talking to the representatives for Cape Agulhas and the City of Umeå on how to improve the organizational readiness and organizational capacity to work for youth inclusion in both municipalities.
