Once again, representatives for the County Governments of Kisumu, Siaya, Busia, Migori and Homa Bay visited Västerbotten for participating in a program oriented towards governance for resilient and sustainable health systems – also taking climate change and environment into account when working towards this goal.
The team from the Kenya Lake Victoria frontiers counties consisted of representatives from both the political wings and the technical wings of the county governments.
The program included peer learning workshops, study and field visits as well as formal dialogue between executives and strategists.
Thank you to Region Västerbotten and the City of Umeå for being great hosts to the guests from Kenya, and thank you to the teams from Kisumu, Siaya, Busia, Migori and Homa Bay for being great partners in our common project that is of concern for all partners. Thank you also to the team from Umeå University and Stockholm Environment Institute who provide with their insights and for exploring opportunities for collaboration.
I was the faclitator of the week, contracted by Center for Rural Medicine, Region Västerbotten, who is the coordinator of the partnership with the Kenyan Lake Victoria frontiers counties.
The program was carried out May 19th-24th 2024 in the City of Umeå.
