Lecture for Teachers in The City of Umeå

Assigned by The Global School - an operation within Higher Education Council, Sweden funded by Swedish International Development Agency (Sida) I lectured December 5th 2018 on Peace Education and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) for teachers and trainers working in The City of Umeå. The lecture adressed the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, Goal No.4 on quality education for all and Goal No.16 on peaceful and inclusive societies as well as on Global Action Program on Education for Sustainable Development

Action for Gender Equality in Machakos County, Kenya

Working Towards Integrated Environmental Systems on Waste and Water in Kajiado County, Kenya

October 14th-18th, 2018 the City of Umeå and its waste and water company (VAKIN) visited Kajiado County, Kenya for collaboration with the county government on integrated environmental systems for waste and water. The visit was very successful in terms of how the partners analyzed and communicated on necessary investigations, policies and plans for developing sustainable waste and water management in Kajiado County which demands partnership between stakeholders representing different parts of the society. Homa Bay County Government and Centre for Rural Medicine – Partners for Equitable Health

Through funding from Swedish International Centre for Local Democracy (ICLD), Homa Bay County Government, Kenya and Centre for Rural Medicine (a research and development unit within the primary health care organisation of Västerbotten County Council) investigates on how the partners can promote equitable health in each county, however with special attention to the needs in Homa Bay County.
