Educational Assignments at Swedish Universities

On a regular basis since I started this ADEP I have been teaching at several Swedish Universities; Umeå University, Malmö University, Swedish University for Agriculture Sciences and Higher Vocational Education. The courses and themes have been many. Thanks to all students from all corners of the world. It has been a pleasure working with and for you.

Kajiado County, Kenya and The City of Umeå

The inceptionphase between Kajiado County, Kenya and The City of Umeå is now finalized and resulted in applications for two projects on sustainable urban and regional development governed by a joint steering group. A visit in Kajiado County for The City of Umeå March 11-15th included talks with Kajiado Government and several study visits.

Peace and Conflict Studies

Once again I have finalized a course in Peace- and Conflict Studies. Through an assignment from The Department of Political Science, Umeå University, and in the framework of an international program for crisis- and conflictmanagement, I have been the teacher for students at a course on genocide, massviolence, crimes against humanity, international law and how modernity relates to these areas of concern. This only one example of courses in which I have been a teacher. I almost lost count of

Cooperation with SIPU International

Together with a team of consultants, as partners with SIPU International, we will educate and act as facilitators in a variation of courses runned by Sida Partnership Forum in Härnösand, Sweden.

Machakos County and Robertsfors Municipality

Machakos County and Robertsfors Municipality have collaborated since 2007 with funding from Swedish International Centre for Local Democracy (ICLD) and in different projects all concerning sustainable development and human rights. The last project was finalized February 2015 and the partners are now in a dialogue on the future. My role in this partnership has been the one of coordinator and project manager.

Swedish Forum for Human Rights

Under the headline "Raising Voices for Rights" The Swedish Annual Forum for Human Rights 2014 where held in The City of Umeå. The event contained 120 seminars, 65 mini-seminars, 2 fairs for exhibitions and organizations. The event attracted more than 3000 participants from the whole world. My role in this project was the one of initiator and regional project manager in collaboration with national and regional organizations. For more information, see: www.mrdagarna.se
